06.27.2023 The First Shall Be Last

January 4, 2016 I posted my first Daily Inspiration in response to encouragement I received from Ken Neuman to add value to a project we were working on together. The format was based on a daily devotion he received from a church in Hawaii every morning (They included a daily joke, I chose to leave that out). For the past 8 years I have had the joy and challenge of providing spiritual insights, unpack hard truths, and encourage my brothers and sisters through over these devotions. I have produced over 2,000 devotions in that time. This will be the final installment from me. I do not know if others will take up the mantle or not. I pray they do.
Thank you for engaging this journey with me. I have grown so much through this process. I pray the Holy Spirit has used them to bless you through the yeas.
It seems appropriate end at the beginning. Here is the first Daily Inspiration I ever wrote. - Pastor Eric Kennaugh

Ephesians 1:4
“For [God] chose us in Him before the creation of the world…”

Thought for Today
God picked you to be a part of His family. He knew in advance all your weaknesses and failures, and He still chose you to be His son or daughter. Being a child of God is not based upon our decision to follow God and then earning His love. It is based upon His decision to create and love you, a decision He made at the dawning of creation. You are His child because He first loved you. Before you knew Him He took you by the hand and guided you into His family, and He has never let go since.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for choosing me to be your child even before the world was made. Let this thought fill me with joy no matter what this day holds for me. For I know that nothing can stop You from loving me. Amen.

Devotional Quote for Today
“God's purpose in the salvation of his people is invincible—it cannot fail—because it is based first not on our choosing God but on God's choosing us.” –John Piper

Quote of the Day
Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, “I’m possible!” –Audrey Hepburn
