We are hiring a full-time operations director to serve alongside our team here at Immanuel. This position will help support the ministry of both our church and school. Position Title:  Operations Director, Full-time

Employment Status: Exempt

Primary Function

The Operations Director is responsible for supporting the Senior Pastor in those administrative matters where the Senior Pastor is designated as the responsible party in the Constitution, the By-Laws and Mission and Ministry Policy. Areas where the Senior Pastor may wish to assign responsibility include, but are not limited to, budgeting, finance, facilities and equipment, information technology, contract management, congregational/staff record management and human resources.  

Position Relationship

Reports to:  Senior Pastor

Works with:  All ILCS staff members, advisory boards, volunteers, venders and contractors

Primary Responsibilities

  1.  Act as a Christian role model for all school and church workers, volunteers, students and families, sharing the Gospel of Jesus as Savior and Friend.

  2. Embrace, support and participate in the team ministry and related events of ILCS.

  3. Take a lead role in developing and administering the Congregation’s annual budget along with the Treasurer, Finance Committee, Bookkeeper and Ministry Directors.

  4. Work with and facilitate the projects and activities of the Mission and Ministry Council (MMC).

  5. Work with and facilitate the projects and activities of the Finance Committee.

  6. Work with and facilitate the projects and activities of the Building and Grounds Committee(s).

  7. Work with and facilitate the projects and activities of the Personnel Committee.

  8. Work with and facilitate the projects and activities of the Safety and Security Committee.

  9. Oversee the regular maintenance, operations, inspections of and security of the Congregation’s grounds and facilities.

  10. Review, negotiate and update contracts in conjunction with the appropriate stakeholders.

  11. Attend meetings of the MMC, Committees and other organizations as needed.

  12. Ensure all staff and student records remain current and secure in a locked environment.

  13. Lead and coordinate record management per ILCS record retention policy.

  14. Oversee the day-to-day financial activities of the congregation and school.

  15. The Bookkeeper shall report to the Operations Director.

  16. Evaluate current operational practices for efficiency and effectiveness.  Submit recommendations.  Implement new practices, as approved by the Senior Pastor.

Position Qualifications

  1. An active member of ILCS, or willing to become an active member is preferable.

  2. Possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills in relating to adults and children.

  3. Successfully complete the background check process.

  4. Embrace the mission and ministry of ILCS.

  5. Possess a background in Business Administration or other appropriate major and a minimum of 5 years leadership experience in a supervisory position

  6. Working knowledge of basic trade(s) skill sets. i.e. electrical, plumbing, HVAC etc.

  7. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word

  8. Strong communication skills, oral and written.

  9. Adhere to highest standards of confidentiality.
