Romans 15:13

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Thought for Today

Three words that sum up what we need most right now are hope, joy, and peace. We are constantly bombarded with bad news, especially if you watch the news. Being cooped up on these beautiful days can steal your joy. And all of the chaos and uncertainty of our times can rob you of peace. If you look at the world around you it is a bit scary. But, glory be to God, this is not where our hope, joy, and peace reside. Our hope is in the Lord who has seen His people through worse days in the past. He still knows the plans He has for you. Plan to bless you. Plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). I joy comes from cultivating our relationship with Him, and out of that relationship joining Him in caring for others. Our peace is found in knowing that God is still on His throne and we live under His care. We have peace knowing that regardless of the circumstances of the day our place in His eternal kingdom is settled in our baptism. When we fix our eyes on God we find all the hope, joy, and peace we need. Be sure to join us online this weekend at www.immanulebatavia.org for Palm Sunday worship starting at 8:00 am, where our eyes and hearts will be fully fixed on Him.

Prayer

Gracious Lord, stay forefront in my heart and mind. Fill me with You hope, joy, and peace so that Your power would overflow from us into the lives of those around us. Amen.

Devotional Quote

To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless. ― G.K. Chesterton

Quote of the Day

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present. ― Bill Keane

I APPREACIATED THE PHONE CALL FROM IMMANUEL, AND ALSO THE PORTALS OF PRAYER. I GAVE THEM TO EVERYONE I KNOW FROM IMMANUEL, AND OTHERS.
