Philippians 4:7

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Thought for Today

Are all of the changes and challenges dragging you down? Do you find yourself anxious or easily upset? This whole episode has everyone off kilter, like we are standing on shifting sands. This is exactly when our connection to Christ becomes so important. Christ is the solid rock on which we stand in uncertain times. In Him are the bedrock truths that never change. Jesus loves you so much He gave His life for you on the cross. Jesus has promised to be with us wherever we go. Our place in heaven is sure, regardless of the perils we face on earth. The more you set your heart and minds on these things, the more you will have peace. And the wonderful thing about God’s peace is that it transcends understanding. That means, even knowing the troubles of this day and the dangers of the world, we can have peace. It doesn’t have to make sense to those who don’t know Jesus. For us, all our hope is in Him and He never fails us. So, set your heart and mind on Christ today and let His peace fill you.

Lord God, thank You for Your many and great promises that fill and cover my life. Help me to rest in Your peace today, standing firm on You, my rock. Amen.

Devotional Quote

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing. — C. S. Lewis

Quote of the Day

I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace. — Thomas Paine
